Visitors to our website
We collect personal data when you:
sign up to our newsletter
contact us through the website
submit your organisation to our directory or our Yorkshire legaltech listing
apply to join the Advisory Board, speak at an event, appear on our podcast or take part in a hackathon
We also collect information about how people use the site through analytics tools. See our cookie policy for details.
Our site links to and embeds content from third parties, including Luma and YouTube. These have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.
Event attendees
When you register for one of our events, we collect your name, email address, job title and organisation. We also collect any dietary or access needs you choose to share. We use this to:
register you
run the event
send you event information
improve future events through feedback
We only use dietary or access information to run the event, and only share it with the venue or caterer where needed. It’s stored with your registration on Eventbrite or Luma, and we keep it for the same period as other event records (2 years), unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
We don’t share attendee lists with sponsors. We only pass your details to a sponsor if you’ve opted in to hear from them when you register.
Online events
We run some events online through Microsoft Teams. If an online event is recorded, we’ll tell you before it starts.
Event photography and recordings
We take photos and sometimes film or record our events, and use them to promote LegalTech in Leeds. We’ll let you know at the event. If you’d prefer not to be photographed, tell a member of the team on the day. You can also ask us to remove an image of you at any time.
Speakers, podcast guests and Advisory Board members
We collect your name, job title, organisation, biography, photo and contact details. We use these to:
organise your involvement
promote the event or content you’re part of
publish your profile on our website and channels where agreed
Directory and company listings
When you submit an organisation to our directory or regional listing, we collect your organisation’s details and a contact name and email. We publish the organisation details. We don’t publish the contact details unless you ask us to.
Hackathon participants
We collect your name, contact details, organisation or place of study, and team details. We use these to run the hackathon and share results. Some hackathon participants may be under 18. For anyone under 18, we ask a parent or guardian to give consent for them to take part and to be photographed or filmed. We collect only the information needed to run the event, we don’t add under-18s to our mailing list or share their details with sponsors, and we don’t publish their full names alongside images.
Sponsors and partners
We collect contact names, email addresses, phone numbers and billing details. We use these to manage your sponsorship or partnership, take payment and keep you updated on related opportunities.
Suppliers
We collect contact and payment details so we can order and pay for goods and services.

We send a newsletter and updates about our events and the legaltech community. You’ll receive these if you’ve signed up, or if you registered for an event and didn’t opt out.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email info@legaltechinleeds.com.
We don’t sell your data or share it with other organisations for their marketing.
