With the aim of fostering collaboration and innovation and a commitment to building a community across the Leeds region within the legal and tech sectors, 2023 proved to be an exceptional year for the LegalTech in Leeds. In this blog post, we will delve into the highlights of the past year and provides a glimpse of the exciting activity planned for LegalTech in Leeds in 2024.
Before that though, we need to say a huge thank you to our 2023 sponsors and partners as without these organisations, the events and activity of 2023 would not have been possible:
LegalTech in Leeds orchestrated an impressive array of 26 events throughout the year, ranging from seminars, networking drinks, virtual learning lunches and a full-day conference and hackathon. These events provided a platform for the convergence of technology and legal professionals, fostering an environment conducive to innovative thinking and problem-solving. Hosting 161 distinguished speakers that enriched the discussions and offered diverse perspectives on industry challenges and opportunities.
The community witnessed significant growth, attracting almost 1,800 sign-ups across the 26 events. This surge in membership underscores the initiatives impact and relevance within the legal and tech communities. LegalTech in Leeds made notable strides in increasing engagement across various marketing channels, amplifying its reach and influence, delivering value for partners and sponsors, and solidifying its position as a collaborative force driving positive change in the LegalTech landscape.
As we step into 2024 with gratitude for the ongoing support from partners, sponsors and the LegalTech in Leeds community, there is enthusiasm anticipation for what lies ahead.

•LegalTech in Leeds 2024 Hackathon - 14th March 2024 (08:00 - 17:00)
•Women in LegalTech: Shifting the Dial on Diversity - 10th April 2024 (12:00 - 14:00)
•LegalTech in Leeds 2024 Conference - 18th April 2024 (08:00 - 17:00)
•SME Law Firm Forum - 6th June 2024 (18:00 - 20:00)
•Events targeted at in-house legal teams.
•Other activity targeted at SME law firms.
•Student/junior lawyer social events such as networking drinks.
•Access to justice themed events.
•Special interest groups that are focused on practice areas such as personal injury, property & conveyancing etc.
•Events held outside of Leeds city centre, in major hubs such as York and Harrogate as well as events in the suburban parts of Leeds.
Over the next 12 months, the focus will be on continuing to scale the initiative, develop event activity and strengthen national links. The commitment to championing diversity will also be a key priority for 2024, evidenced through the launch of the 'Women in LegalTech' event series—a dedicated effort to address gender imbalances within the industry.
LegalTech in Leeds has not only celebrated its achievements from the past year but has set the stage for a promising 2024. The commitment to collaboration, diversity, and innovation remains a priority and as LegalTech in Leeds continues to break new ground, 2024 holds the promise of more insightful events, impactful collaborations, and further contributions to the evolution of LegalTech in the Leeds region.
